Meet Dr. Lackey

In 1988 Dr. Amy Lackey graduated with honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry School and then completed her residency at The Eye Institute, in Philadelphia, with an emphasis in ocular disease. Dr. Lackey is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She has practiced in the North Georgia and Chattanooga area for over 20 years. Dr. Lackey specializes in difficult contact lens fits including bifocals, astigmatism, keratoconus, scleral lenses, and gas permeable lenses. She also manages LASIK, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Lackey’s caring demeanor and knowledge allows her to provide quality care for children as well as adult patients.

She is an avid runner and enjoys competing in both trail and road races. She has completed multiple marathons and a 50k trail race. Dr. Lackey believes a healthy lifestyle is important and translates to excellent overall and ocular health. She is married and has two daughters. She teaches a special education Sunday School class and takes pleasure in outdoor activities with her family and friends.

Meet Dr. Thompson

Dr. Paige Thompson is excited to join Dr. Lackey and use her expertise in ocular disease to provide exceptional eyecare while developing relationships with patients. A native of Binghamton, New York, Dr. Thompson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York in 2011. While at Syracuse, she competed on the Division 1 Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field teams.

She also attended the University of Colorado at Boulder as a non-degree student and worked in research prior entering Optometry school in August 2012. Dr. Thompson received her Doctor of Optometry in 2016 from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University and was Valedictorian of her class. Following optometry school, Dr. Thompson went on to complete a residency in Ocular Disease at SouthEast Eye Specialists from 2016-2017. During her residency, Dr. Thompson provided cataract surgery pre/post-operative care and full-scope referral based ocular disease management. Her focuses during residency included management of neuro-ophthalmic disease and oculoplastics. Currently, she practices full-scope optometry, including management of cataracts, cornea, glaucoma, retina, and neuro-ophthalmic conditions.

Dr. Thompson is married with three children. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking with her family, and weekends at the lake. She is also an avid runner and enjoys training for and competing in marathons.
